Background InformationCommunity Strategy - CEREDIGION 2020 What is a Community Strategy? A Community Strategy sets out a vision of how the County area as a whole, specific parts of it or local communities will develop in the next 10 - 15 years. A Community Strategy is more than wishful thinking. It has to be based on what is possible, given local constraints, such as the availability of funding. The duty to prepare a Strategy has been given to the Local Authority, however, this is a Strategy for the County as a whole. It is an overarching framework for all Services provided within the County. A Community Strategy document is available. The Ceredigion Local Service Board is responsible for the delivery of the Community Strategy. For further information on the Local Service Board and its membership, click here.
Ceredigion 2020 will be working with a 'Vision' of how the Community Strategy will aim to improve the lives of the people of Ceredigion over the next 10 to 15 years, up to the year 2020. "Ceredigion in 2020 will be a self confident, healthy, caring, bilingual community, supported by a strong local economy using the skills of its people, making use of the resources of its high quality environment, providing opportunities for all to reach their full potential." How will we deliver the Vision for Ceredigion? The Community Strategy is based on 5 working Themes and Cross-Cutting issues:
The 5 Themes will be developed further and Implementation Groups be set up, based on the Themes to develop actions.I Further Information If you would like any further information regarding the Community Strategy, please contact: Corporate and Community Strategy Manager
